From a 48-hour email backlog to same-hour replies.

Northwind sells sofas that arrive in boxes the size of a fridge. Their support is mostly logistics: where is it, it’s late, the box is damaged, can I change the delivery date. Fourteen thousand emails a month, three people, a 48-hour backlog that never cleared.

Oriel took the first reply on 100% of email within a week. It reads the carrier scan, the order, and the last ticket; it reschedules deliveries directly in the carrier portal; it issues late-delivery credits under policy §4.2 without asking. Humans now handle the 29% that need judgment — and they handle it with a summary already written.

“I expected a chatbot. What we got was the colleague who actually reads the whole thread before replying.”

Kestrel’s phone line had a seven-level menu and a 14-minute hold. Most calls were one of four things: explain a charge, dispute a charge, freeze a card, reset access. All four require identity verification; all four touch regulated language.

Oriel answers in under a second, verifies identity by voice plus OTP, and resolves all four intents in a single call, citing the exact regulated phrasing from Kestrel’s compliance team. When a caller is distressed or the amount is over policy, it hands off to a human mid-call with a live transcript — no re-verification, no repeating the story.

“Compliance signed off because every sentence is traceable to a policy. That has never happened with a vendor before.”

Tidewater’s customers are developers, and their tickets come with stack traces. Previously every engineer did a week of support a quarter — the single most hated calendar entry in the company.

Oriel reads the trace, reproduces against the docs and the public SDK, and either answers with a working snippet or files a bug with a minimal repro. The engineering team gets a ranked list of documentation gaps every Monday, each one with the number of tickets it caused. Support rotations are gone.

“It files better bug reports than most of our customers. Some weeks, better than us.”
— CTO, Tidewater
